The British referendum of 23 June 2016, called by Prime Minister David Cameron after a renegotiation with the European Union in the winter, was a seismic event in Britain and the EU, the results of which continue to unfold ten years later. In the UK, the political and economic effects of Brexit are enduring and multi-faceted, confirming that it is ‘a process, not an event’.
