Rome, a dreamscape come true
La presente pubblicazione è stata pensata per il Giubileo 2025 e raccoglie immagini inedite e spettacolari della Capitale deserta durante il periodo del Covid. Per quasi due anni Roberto Granata ha portato avanti questo emozionante progetto, svegliandosi all’alba e catturando con la sua macchina fotografica scorci caratteristici, strade e monumenti completamente vuoti, ripuliti da macchine e persone. In questa nuova veste appare una Roma “da sogno”, che mozza il fiato, nella sua purezza e maestosità.
La Fondazione Roberto Granata è stata fondata nel 2009 a Roma dal fotografo ritrattista Roberto Granata (Presidente) e dalla figlia, Pilar Granata (ex direttrice). Entrambi operano nelle arti visive, organizzando eventi culturali senza scopo di lucro il cui ricavato viene devoluto ad associazioni che si occupano di bambini vulnerabili e in difficoltà.
I proventi di questo progetto saranno destinati ai bambini vittime delle guerre di Ucraina e Gaza e ai bambini terremotati del Sud Est Asiatico, Myanmar, Thailandia.
The present publication was devised for the 2025 Jubilee Holy Year. It brings together new, spectacular views of the Italian capital, deserted during the Covid period. For almost two years Roberto Granata devoted himself to this very moving project, waking up at dawn and using his camera to capture new, alluring scenes of the city, with its typical streets and monuments. Here Rome is completely empty, devoid of its usual cars and people. In this new guise, we see a “dreamlike”, breathtaking Rome, in all its purity and majesty.
The Roberto Granata Foundation was founded in 2009 in Rome by the portrait photographer Roberto Granata (President) and his daughter, Pilar Granata (former Director). Both work in the visual arts, organising non-profitmaking cultural events, the proceeds from which are donated to associations that assist vulnerable children, and children who are in difficulty.
The proceeds from this project will be set aside for children who have been victims of the wars in Ukraine and Gaza and to the earthquake-stricken children of South East Asia, Myanmar, Thailand.
